Why We Love This Entertainment Icon

There are countless platforms that connect us to pop culture and make it a forefront aspect of news in our everyday lives. Cell phones, tablets, and laptops connect us to Twitter, Instagram, and other tools that we use to know who’s who, what they are doing, and where they are at. We enjoy scrutinizing celebrity outfits, matchmaking between stars, and unexpected break ups of some of our favorite Hollywood package deals. You may enjoy following certain cultures and movements, such as music sensations only, members of the Kardashian pack, or the all around female idol Beyonce and her feminist and black empowerment movements.
In fact, can we just talk about Beyonce for a minute? In the black gossip site realm of celebrity news, her face, her voice, and the things she believes in are always ranked high in priority. Queen Bee is outrageously successful, coming in at an estimated net worth of about $450 million, putting her in the running for the title of most successful female music artist on the globe. Combined with her husband Jay-Z’s net worth, their collective financial assets are in the ballpark of $1 billion. Change for the poor, Yonce?

In all seriousness, a face as prominent as Beyonce’s in the celeb news and black gossip site world should know to use their influence for good, and Beyonce has used her spotlight in the entertainment industry and in celeb gossip to bring the issues of female and black oppression first and foremost. As movements such as Black Lives Matter create stronger and stronger flurries in the black gossip site realm across the nation, the musical superstar continues to reaffirm her support for the fair and equal treatment and opportunity of black American citizens.

Beyonce’s feminist beliefs have not gone unnoticed either. Even in her earliest musical works up until her most recent full album, “Lemonade,” she has always sung lyrics that are meant to inspire, empower, uplift, and strengthen women who are struggling with anything from growing up to friendship to an unfaithful partner (and retaliating against that unfaithful partner). Thanks for the good times, Bey.

Black culture has brought to us countless wonderful musicians, talented actors, and wise public figures. The industries that they dominate are worth billions (such as hip hop, coming in at $500 billion in spending power yearly) and some of their biggest celebrities are truly beloved (such as Beyonce, the defense rests) and that culture has made significant movements that will continue to shape and complexify the society we live in.
