Getting a Good Night’s Rest — It May Have Everything to Do With the Pajamas You’re Wearing to Bed
Would you be surprised to learn that there is a Guinness world record for the largest footed pajamas party? Would it come as a shock to learn that people gather by the hundreds in their pink onesie pajamas? Hopefully not, because both are true!
On March 11th, 2012, residents of Austin, Texas and attendees of the South by Southwest Interactive Festival at the Austin Caravan compound attended a party hosted by Steve Pandi and Jumpin Jammerz. The party reached 309 adult attendees dressed in adult footed pajamas and pink onesie pajamas, officially breaking the record for largest footed pajama party ever thrown! A very crazy record to own — surely one that makes its owner proud!
This is, perhaps, surprising. A study conducted recently revealed that 61% of respondents claimed to not have many nightwear options to choose from when it comes down to bedtime. In other words, their options for pajamas and other comfortable clothes to wear to bed are very limited.
Maybe it’s time more Americans took a page out of the books of the most comfortable among us — it’s reported that four out of ten Americans don’t get as much sleep as they should be, which is, perhaps, indicative of changes that need to be made to our sleeping routines.
A good night’s rest is completely vital. Without our sleep, we’re prone to making more mistakes, having less mental clarity, and having poorly balanced chemical levels throughout the day. Getting a good night’s rest, whether that be our full eight hours or double that for our newborn babies, is vital in ensuring we have the most fulfilling day possible as Americans.
