She managed to overcome her troubled beginnings, which included a teenage pregnancy and the loss of her infant son, to move away from her home and live despite her circumstances. Once she made the decision to better her life, Winfrey quickly began to climb to the top.
Winfrey worked a radio job while she was still in high school, and began work as an evening news anchor by the age of 19. She soon began her own talk show and was able to gather huge numbers of viewers with her charming and intimate form of communication. Winfrey possibly even changed the standard media communication format with her emotion-centered and intimate approach.
Despite the fact that Oprah Winfrey has overcome her childhood circumstances, very few people know her whole story. Many people may assume that she was born into fame or money and was able to build her empire with family inheritances. However, the true story shows us the power of overcoming our circumstances. Oprah Winfrey’s story should inspire people to never give up, no matter how bleak things may seem.
As an African American woman living in the United States, Oprah Winfrey was born with many parts of the world and society working against her. Yet, she managed to push back. She created a life for herself and used her fortunes to give back to her community. She climbed to the top of the mountain, looked back down to those who were still struggling, and offered help.
