The Holidays Are Quickly Approaching Are You Wondering How to Donate to Charity?

Winter is well on its way, and there’s never been a better time to look into making charitable donations this holiday season. Helping families in need is one way we each can do our part to help raise up our fellow man in times of great adversity. Most people can get on board with the idea, but not everyone knows how to donate to charity, so we’ve gathered some basic information that might be helpful concerning charitable donations.

Nearly All Americans Participate in Charitable Donations

Whether through donating clothing, a financial donation or something else entirely, over 95% of all Americans have participated in some form of charitable donations. There’s always more work to be done, however. Donating used clothing that you’ve either outgrown or just don’t wear anymore can be a great way to contribute, as well as participating in local food drives.

There Are Convenient Ways to Donate!

If you’ve got a large amount of stuff you wish to donate but aren’t sure how, do a little research on charities in your local area. There are quite a few organizations that pick up donations. If you live in a moderate-to-highly populated area, we’re willing to bet there’s an organization near you that will pick up a donation, as long as it follows their donation guidelines. More information on that can be provided by the specific organization.

Waste is Far Too High

Did you know that every years, Americans generate 21.5 million tons of food waste and 10.5 million tons of textile waste? That number is far too high considering how many people, both in the United States and in the world at large, are left without adequate food or clothing. Much of this waste comes from large corporations that normal people have little control over, but doing your small part to contribute less waste and supply others with necessary items is all we can do.

Have you donated to charity in the past? Any plans to pursue it again? Share your thoughts or recommendations in the comments below, and have a wonderful holiday season!
